Hired Jeffrey to do a dinner for a small group during a golf trip. I got over 20 Thumbtack responses to my post and I chose Jeffrey because his response was personal and I could tell he had read my notes and responded not just a cut and paste bid. Jeffrey was terrific to work with. He was easy to deal with and clearly proud of his work and reputation. He came early to the house we rented and coordinated with the owner to make arrangements. His menu was excellent and had a great variety. He was ready for us and yet was able to be flexible when our last guest was delayed. Our meal was terrific and Jeffrey was a pleasure to have around. His interactions with the group were a value add. He is professional, well mannered, personable and a nice guy. I thoroughly enjoyed working with him and i would hire him again in second. I was looking for a personal chef to help me bc I was malnourished from starving due to IBS and fear of food. Jeffrey is kind, compassionate and supportive. He asked me about my food allergies ( there are many) he spoke to my nutritionist, and made sure to adhere to everything carefully. While it was still hard for me to eat I was eating again! Jeffrey is an amazing chef and made me foods I can’t normally eat /find bc of my food intolerances. He is creative and has helped me with my fear of food . - What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?It’s fair, and highly competitive for the quality I offer. Fully serviced events include labor, rentals if needed, tax, just like any other catering company. Personal chef you may pay for food but it really comes out the same. Drop offs available in Manhattan and nearby.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?They call or email me with information about their event. (Date, time, guest count, types of food the want, type of event they want...passed hor douerves, cocktail party, wedding, birthday, larger corporate events, buffet, plated, chef attended action stations, private in home multi course dinner , drop offs and everything in between. We then discuss the menu, I create that with an estimate for the event, I like to meet them in person at the event site, they approve everything and write me a check for 50% deposit of the event to secure the date. I plan everything and just show up and knock it out so they only have to relax and enjoy the event.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I’m a certified Executive Chef with the American culinary federation. Translation black belt. Highly skilled seasoned professional. I also have highest level of safety sanitation with National Registration of Food Professionals. And of course department of health NYC. Training on the job 20 years. Worked Bohemian Club Sf, best caterers in Napa, Sonoma, Fairmont SMI, Banquet Chef of Monterey Plaza Hotel and Spa and Fountainbleu Miami Beach to name a few. Experience in Italian, French, Latin, Asian, Mediterranean, German, California Cuisine. I’ve done almost everything and what I haven’t done I’m open to figure out, so your menus can be customized. Self taught, worked with best chefs in the country, strong interest & work ethic , good palette and natural talent it’s pretty easy.
