I have been struggling with my oldest dog and her reactiveness on walks. I reached out to Chelsea to better get a handle on both my dogs with more of a focus on Pooka and she was extremely helpful! Not only did she give me great tips on how to reign Pooka back in on walks, but also gave analysis on both her behavior and her sister Truffles that gave a better understanding on what I need to do better as a doggy mom. This was the first training experience where I felt my dogs' personalities were taken into account. Both of them are very different and have opposing needs and Chelsea navigated those needs perfectly. I highly recommend her services to anyone who wants a more hands on and focused experience!

Chelsea helped us understand Barry so much better! She helped us see Barry's good instincts and work with them not against them to teach him good behaviors. We worked on crate training, leash pulling, playing on the long line and manners when we have guests over, among many other things!

Chelsea is a true professional. My dog is ADHD, at best, and is on meds. Her rapport with him is outstanding and she has an uncanny ability to communicate with him and change/correct his wildness while training him to behave. He is learning many things, as am I, and if her work continues I can see there is a solution to our problems. I can’t say enough good things about Chelsea!

We tried two other dog trainers before we came across Chelsea, and after speaking with her on the phone I immediately knew something was different about her, in the best possible way. She talked with us about focusing on what was causing our little guy to act out in the ways he had been, what we could and couldn't reasonably expect (this one was huge, and took a bit of vital human training on our part) and took the time to start us out with a strong foundation using techniques that worked—and that we were comfortable with—to create a lasting change in our rescue dog. You can tell Chelsea loves what she does and that she positively adores dogs and their people, too. Her approach is so affective because she treats dog psychology the same way the best specialists approach human psychology: by addressing the source of the behavior that causes the symptoms, and taking each dog's personality into account. At the same time, her methods seem to work magnificently across the board. She is brilliant, her methods are affective, she is highly professional but also extremely friendly and approachable. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to treat problematic behaviors in their beloved rescue dogs, but in any dog, really—it just takes a special person to have the knowledge and patience to work with a dog who has trauma they can never communicate with words.

Chelsea was great with my puppy! We have been struggling with our puppy to walk without jumping on people and pulling. She spent 2 hrs working with our puppy and we saw great improvements. She recorded parts of the session for us to refer to later and gave us great tips on how to train our puppy inside and outside the house. Would 100% recommend her!

Sundog provides high quality, personalized services tailored to meet your individual needs. We create custom plans, packages and offer discounts for monthly or bulk sessions.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I want to hear about your relationship with your dog; both what you like and what you want to change! I encourage potential clients to ask questions, visit my social media pages, watch my videos before they decide to hire me. Once they feel comfortable with my approach, fill out my detailed history form so I can look over the specifics of the case before scheduling.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelors degree in Animal Behavior and Behavioral Psychology, a CPDT-KA from the Certification Council of Pet Professionals, and I continue to take classes, read books and stay up to date on the most recent behavior and training research.
