I discovered Rachel through stumbling upon her website www.cookshala.com and got in touch with her through Instagram. We quickly became friends and I decided to take a private cooking lesson with her to learn how to make some classic Indian dishes. She was very professional and sent me over sample menus for me to choose from. I chose her Classic Chicken Curry, Coconut Shrimp Curry, Scratch Made Roti, and Malai Paneer. When I arrived at her cozy apartment, she had everything organized and ingredients measured out to make the lesson go smoothly. She was very pleasant, patient, and thorough with steps of each dish. I had many questions and learned so much about Indian spices, ingredients, and cookware. She was a great instructor and made sure to explain each process throughly. She even helped me learn and work on my knife skills. We enjoyed our amazing and flavorful meal that we just cooked together and talked about her time at CIA and I was impressed with the breadth of her NYC culinary experience. She was so easy-going and fun to be around, I'd recommend Rachel to anyone, from a novice to an expert, who wants to add to their culinary skills.
