Introduction: After losing his leg after stepping on an IED in Afghanistan as a combat medic, Redmond decided to keep pushing harder than ever to prove that anyone can Succeed through their Struggle. He competed on the hit CBS show The Amazing Race, as well as competed and won another CBS show "Triumph Games". Redmond competed for Team USA in London's Invictus Games (earning the bronze medal in the 400m sprint). Redmond loves sharing his story with everyone in order to help others push their workforce to success.

The American Subcontractors Association, a national trade association representing subcontractors, specialty trade contractors and suppliers in the construction industry, holds its national convention annually. During our convention, we offer general sessions featuring keynote speakers, along with education workshops focused on construction issues that most impact subcontractors—such as payment issues, contracts, and risk allocation. But for our general sessions, we aim to deliver compelling speakers who inspire and energize participants. Redmond Ramos’ story immediately grabbed our attention. We felt our members would embrace him as a veteran and identify with his struggle. We scheduled Redmond as our lead-off keynote speaker for SUBExcel 2017, held in March 2017 in Denver, Colorado. We expected Redmond to “wow” us with his story and energize our members from the very start of our convention. And, boy did he deliver! One participant commented, “Very inspirational and a great way to kick off the convention!” Another noted, “Very real. A welcome change from a polished speaker.” More than 90 percent of participants who responded to our evaluation survey were “very satisfied” or “satisfied” with “relevance of the content to your job or responsibilities.” More than 80 percent of respondents were “very satisfied” or “satisfied” with the “opportunity to engage or interact” with the speaker, and 100 percent were “very satisfied” or “satisfied” with the “quality of the speaker.” One hundred percent also said they were “very satisfied” or “satisfied” with the “attainment of valuable learning objectives” from Redmond’s presentation, and 100 percent said they were “very satisfied” or “satisfied” with the “overall session.” Redmond received a standing ovation from the nearly 200 people in attendance. But perhaps even more importantly, Redmond set the stage for what would become one of the most successful conventions we have ever offered!

Redmond was the Master of Ceremonies for our 9/11 Heroes Run 5K race that supports the Travis Manion Foundation. Prior to the race, Red was proactive and responsive to ensure a full understanding of the script and timeline. Upon arrival on the morning of the race, Red displayed immediate enthusiasm and offered to help before runners arrived. Although his role was MC, Red started moving boxes and helping wherever he could. As an MC, Red drew the crowd’s attention with his stage presence. He is confident, poised, and energetic. He tells a meaningful story and adds humor to keep the crowd engaged. Our timeline changed just minutes before opening ceremonies began and Red was flexible and helpful in ensuring the day ran smoothly. Red was also great with kids who wanted to meet the Amazing Race contestant they were routing for. We couldn’t have asked for a better host for our 5K race and we would recommend Red to anyone looking for a powerful, respectful, and passionate motivational speaker. We look forward to working with Red in the future!

Red was a guest speaker at four veterans events highlighting the military service of veterans that served during WWII, Korea, Vietnam and peacetime. Red was very professional, thoughtful and engaged the audience and asked them to share their stories. I would ask Red to return as a guest speaker.

I love making each event special. I have my dedicated speeches that I have worked hard to perfect- however I like to add or change things bases on the clients preference.

Toastmasters inc member, Military leader and trained hundreds in combat medicine, Psychology major, over 50 previous speeches/ highly experienced
