FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I'll talk to the customer and ask questions and get details on the problem they are having. I'll suggest things that they could try before I come out, if possible. I have fixed many problems over the phone! I can usually get an idea of what is wrong and relate that to the customer and go over pricing. If the customer wants I'll schedule a service call. I give a 2 hour window as to when I will show up at their house and I call when I'm on the way. When at the house I'll diagnose the problem and relate what is wrong with the customer and what is needed for the repair.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started back in 1976. I worked part time while going to tech school. I worked in Milford CT in a small shop. We rebuilt and reconditioned appliances. We then sold and delivered them. We also did in home service. The owner of the shop took my under his wing and taught me tons of "real world" ways to repair and troubleshoot washers, dryers, ranges, dishwashers, refrigerators, etc. The kind of stuff you don't learn in school. I owe him a lot.
