I am writing a review for Aqua Aquatics in Las Vegas, Nevada. I found them published on Thumbtack. I think it's important that someone from Thumbtack be aware of how unprofessional this company is to further prevent this happening to another customer. A couple weeks ago Nancy (the owner) sent out a man named John to check our pool. We have a large above ground pool that needed maintenance. John barely brushed our pool up and threw two chlorine tablets directly into the water (admitting that we should buy floaters for the chlorine tabs). Being a first time above ground pool owner, I didn't realize how detrimental throwing chlorine tabs directly into the pool would affect my liner. As you can see in the pictures, there are two large stains in my liner from where he dropped the tabs. After paying $80 and not noticing a change in the water condition, I called Nancy. She offered to send John back out to my house. John showed up the next morning unannounced (meaning no appointment time or date was discussed). I walked outside to greet him and he expressed how upset he was that we had called his owner and made him "drive all the f#*king way over here on my dime". I told him that I wanted him to leave and get off of my property. I then called Nancy and she apologized for the incident that her technician created at my home and said that she would take care of it even insisting that she terminate him for his unprofessional behavior. She also offered to come out and fix the problem with our pool herself. We told her that would be greatly appreciated. After not showing up, she then called me to ask if she could send John back out to our property after knowing how displeased we were with his service and attitude. Of course, we declined and asked for our money back. She said that was no problem. I called numerous times to inquire about my refund and Nancy came up with every excuse as to why she hadn't sent the payment. She also said that she had a death in the family and I was very nice and understanding about the delay. I sent her a text message today (all of which I have screenshots of) only to inquire about my refund and expressed that I hope that she and her family were doing ok. Several text messages were exchanged (which I'm happy with considering it just proves my case) and what started as a nice message inquiring about a refund that SHE told us that we'd receive, ended with insults saying that we had a "baby pool" and that we were being "ridiculous". All of that changed when I told her that I would be taking pictures of her messages to aid in posting reviews about how unprofessional her company has been. She also threatened to write reviews about the place that I work although she's never even been a customer there. Her last text message was that our money had been returned and was placed under our mat. Of course, I get home to find nothing under our mat. In conclusion, it is my personal and professional opinion (being in the customer service industry) that potential customers be aware of their business behavior to prevent this unfortunate encounter from happening to another family. Thank you for taking the time to read my review. If one of my employees were to treat a customer the way I've been treated, I would want to know about it, especially being that she is a representing Thumbtack.
