Thanks for the 5 Star review. Sal
Associate was very friendly and knowledgeable about my drain backup. Ran 100 auger and informed me that they needed larger machine to clear blockage of roots. Was told this would cost me the original price plus more and wouldn't be the difference between machine prices even though the blockage wasn't cleared. Now my drain is backing up dirt , broken roots and taking longer to drain than original. Problem has been made worse and will cost me twice as much to fix.Nov 15, 2016VerifiedSal S.'s reply
Twyla, This is always a concern with a drain that has roots and broken pipes. I wish we had a magic snake that would prevent this from happening but we don't. We did try to offer you a discount on the larger snake but you hired service from another plumber. The review don't reflect the service provided only the problem you have with your drain with no easy fix. When they get this bad it is time to dig. We can't clear a blockage with the first step and if we did I am sure you would have been satisfied. I understand we all have a budget but you needed a bigger snake to do the job and we would never have known that if we did not start out with the first snake. I pretty confident you may of been upset if we started with the bigger snake because of the cost. We do all we can but roots and dirt are never good in a drain and you should plan on a pretty heavy repair bill that is unavoidable. Thanks for the business but we did all we could for you. I am sure you paid the other plumber more or the same as this was needed no matter who did the job. Thanks, Sal
Did not try to fix it, only gave quote to replace. Tech did not want to deal w/home warranty.Aug 14, 2018VerifiedSal S.'s reply
I spoke an worked with Laurie and a few things went on here. This unit was 25 years old and at a glance it was probably best to replace and still is. We should have diagnosed more throughly as it could be repaired and the customer was willing to pay for this and ended up paying another company quite a bit to repair. We did end up repairing the temp control instead which needed repair before the AC would work which was not mentioned here. This was a weekend call and responded quickly. When a warranty company is involved the customer never wants to pay for our time to sit on hold and once reaching them in most cases the warranty company don't want to help, pay our rates and have their own people. If you have a warranty always call them first. we appreciate the business and feedback. Sal.
Sal's Heating and Cooling was the first to respond to my post on Thumbtack. They came out on a Sunday and replaced my hot water tank without charging me a crazy premium for doing the work on the weekend. They arrived when they said they would, did a great job, brought me up to code and finished the work in about 2 hours. Their price was competitive. I'd recommend Sal's and will call them again whether weekday or weekend.Aug 14, 2018Verified
