Joe is the owner and was super responsive and accommodating and had me booked and ready to roll within 24 hours of my contact. Tony, Ed and Randy were great movers. They were nose-down and didn’t mess around. I’m amazed at how well they fit everything like puzzle pieces into the truck. It’s not just about strength, it’s also about continual mental juggling and rearranging and they did it masterfully. They were all very pleasant to work with. There was only one hiccup when a few boxes toppled over as they were rolling it down the truck ramp onto the pavement. Rather than try to convince me everything was fine, they encouraged and helped me open the boxes to ensure nothing broke. And all was fine. I really appreciated that. I will be moving again and plan to use Heavy Lifting. This time, I hope the owner, Joe, will join in the fun.Nov 13, 2018Verified
To anyone hiring movers- DO NOT HIRE HEAVY LIFTERS of Norwalk. Our experience today was an absolute NIGHTMARE! Scheduled for 10 AM and they did not arrive until 11 AM. Finally finished loading the truck at around 5:30 PM, it’s a 30 minute drive to the new house, and they did not arrive until 7 PM with our belongings. Supposed to be an 8 hour job, and clearly went over. At 10 PM, still not finished unloading the truck, and complaining about how much they hate their job the whole time. They start getting really sloppy. Several pieces of our furniture were damaged. They broke a leg off my mirrored dresser, Tristen’s dresser is gouged on the top and all scraped up on the sides. They dropped it, and now the front base is about to break off. Mind you this was in absolute mint condition sitting in my sons room since he was born. All glass panels from the hutch left in a pile, freezer taken OFF our refrigerator and left. When I say this experience was a nightmare! It was! They went beyond their 8 hours, which they were already paid for and left without finishing the job. They emptied everything into the garage, our mattresses, washer and dryer, sofa, dressers- The garage is packed with everything and now we can’t even pull our cars into the garage. They lowered our cement planters off the truck with the dolly.... were supposed to go on the front steps, but instead left them right in front of the garage door. The 3 movers all got in the truck and pulled out of the driveway and left. Broke my Vintage concrete planter and said whatever. He had asked Lindsey if she knew the area and he’d give her money to buy liquor?! When she said the liquor stores were closed he got an attitude and said THATS IT WE’RE DONE HERE Threw the rest of our belongings on the dirty garage floor. Some more things broken and FILTHY!! Got in the truck and left as I pleaded with him to Please finish the job!! He wanted to be paid after 1/2 the truck was unloaded saying he has to pay his 2 helpers buy 8pm? I paid a deposit 2 days ago and the balance at 8pm and our stuff is out in the garage 😡Aug 24, 2018VerifiedJoseph V.'s reply
The customer paid for 8 hours of service which was in our agreement. The items were only places in the garage because at the 11.5 hr mark which we agreed would be extra after the 8 hours by this I mean there was three and a half hours of extra time for them the customer said that we had broken things which we did not and said she was not going to pay any further this is the only reason or items were placed in the garage because she began making up problems that did not exist in order to get out of paying for the extra time which we agreed on in the agreement that we emailed back and forth this customer was just looking not to pay hence the reason her items were put in the garage as she insisted she would not pay for the extra time.
Highly recommend working with Heavy Lifting Movers & Joe. They were able to book me within a week's notice for moving some furniture pieces coming out of a larger home into an apartment, with a lot of stairs in-between. All pieces were carefully wrapped and arrived at the destination in better condition than they left- even a vanity table that was a bit wobbly pre-move got tightened up as a part of the process. Joe was easy to get a hold of, more than reasonable with the quoting proces and is clearly very experienced with all types of moves. Definitely made the moving process as stress-free as possible and couldn't be happier with the service!Jul 31, 2018Verified

We didn't even work for you. I'm sorry we were unavailable for a next day move on a Friday. other than that what did we do to deserve this review.
The guys were great, they arrived right on time and helped us with all of the heaviest items. If we ever have to move again, we will definitely consider Heavy Lifting movers! Great music taste as well!Jun 18, 2018Verified

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Since the prices often viewed are set prices not factoring in different job types and distances the best way to give a solid number is to message back and forth a bit and perhaps schedule a phone call.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Generally i like to ensure availability first and foremost. Then gather a bit of information beyond what is often offered in the original request, and then i can offer the most solid estimate of time and or cost as well as being mindful of any special needs or circumstances of the customer.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have worked in the field of delivery and moving for roughly 20 years. Including: moving companies, office supply/furniture delivery, multiple appliance companies, and a 5 year stint at UPS. I have learned how to virtually move just about everything there is to move, and have trained my teams to be able to do so as well.
