FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Tutoring and private art instruction generally starts at $70 per hour for a single client. However, I am happy to work with families or groups to provide lower rates for multiple children in one family, for example, or for work with a small group of individuals.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Upon connecting with a potential new customer, I initially hold a phone conversation or exchange emails in an effort to listen to the client about their needs. After that initial conversation, I will propose an outline for when we might work together. I am also happy to meet up for an in-person interview if that is preferred before scheduling time to work together.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold an up-to-date Advanced Professional Certificate in English Language Arts grades 7-12 from the Maryland State Department of Education and completed a Master of Arts in Teaching degree from Johns Hopkins University in 2003. Additionally, I completed a Master of Fine Arts degree in photography at Towson University in 2012 and have studied intermittently at the Maryland Institute College of Art through their Continuing Studies programs.
