I hired Charlie as a solo musician for a set this past month and she was very kind and professional. We had a cancellation at our event and needed someone within the week. Charlie put something together for us in under five days and had an entire three-hour acoustic guitar, ukulele, and slap bass setlist ready. She is a very talented musician and I would recommend her to anyone!

Hey Kya! Thank you so much for your kind words. I'm so glad that I got to work with you, and I'm so glad that you liked me! :) I hope I get to work with you again someday!

FAQs

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

With new customers, typically I reach out to them via email and we establish event date and time, location, and price point. From there, I'll ensure that I have everything you need, and vice versa! ;)

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I've studied music since I was five, starting on piano. I began to compose at age seven, began learning music theory at nine, then contrebasse at ten. I didn't pick up a guitar until I was about sixteen, and didn't start playing ukulele until I was in my twenties, but I have both instruments under my belt and know them inside and out. I studied music in school from age ten onwards, and have studied music theory and composition under many teachers, including participating as a student in the Young Composer's Institute at the Kansas City Symphony under their 2012-2013 Composer-in-Residence, Adam Schoenberg. "Baessulele" came about behind the scenes at the Kansas City Renaissance Festival in 2017, where I developed several techniques and styles for playing both instruments at once! :)

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I really fell in love with music when I was a little kid - I was in LOVE with the music from the Wizard of Oz. From there, my love of music grew and grew, into this wild passion that I now love sharing with as many people as I can.
