Introduction: I am a passionate tutor of Spanish. I work as a Spanish professor at the University of South Florida and St. Petersburg College and I’m also an experienced translator. I hold a Doctorate Degree in Spanish Linguistics and Translation from the Complutense University of Madrid, Spain, with a CUM LAUDE distinction. I have been awarded two academic honors of “Golden Medal” in recognition of outstanding academic achievement with regards to my BA in Spanish Philology and Master’s Degree. I have expertise in a variety of disciplines such as: Spanish Linguistics, Translation, Spanish Language and Culture, and Latin-American Civilization and a passion for helping others learn and succeed. Additionally, I have successfully completed various specialization courses and trainings in Spanish Language and Culture arranged by Spanish universities. What I love most about teaching is being able to encourage people to succeed and seeing them achieve their goals. I am very interested in my student’s feelings and interests and I strongly believe that a good teacher should use her heart in teaching and make the learning experience a joyful one. I’m flexible to accommodate the needs of my students, open-minded and with a great sense of humor.

My daughter (15.5) needed some help in Spanish. We contacted Erida based on her bio and her reasonable charge. We appreciate her responsiveness and now after the second lesson (even after the first) my daughter thinks that Erida is an amazing source of knowledge in Spanish and she is very helpful. We recommend!

I was initially skeptical about finding a spanish tutor on Thumbtack but after my first meeting with Erida those worries were put to rest. She is qualified, experienced, and professional. She follows a learning format that provides you with structure. Lessons with Erida will provide you with an individual learning experience that's tailored to your learning style and speed. I'm provided with weekly learning material. I make my own schedule which is very convenient when you work full time. Scheduling lessons has never been a problem. She's easily available by email, and quickly responds to questions. Most of all though, I see progress. Spanish learning apps dont compare against actually lessons with a native speaker. I would absolutely recommend Erida for spanish lessons.

Erida is unquestionably one of the top Spanish professors available. Being a native Spanish speaker but with weak skills she immediately identified where my strengths and gaps were and focused on where I could make the most progress, not just taking out a lesson plan and covering ground I already knew. Each lesson builds on skills you learn in the prior session. Also, she brings the ability to expand wherever your Spanish takes you. Worth every penny!!!!
