FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I always like to meet a new customer, and go over their project thoroughly with them before starting. Especially with remodeling, it's always a good idea to gain a sense of the customers style, as well as any specific aspects of the project they hope to achieve. I enjoy trying to incorporate the customers ideas, alone with the knowledge, and experience I've gained over the years, what works well together in a project, and things that complement eachother.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Serving in the Military, straight out of High School, definitely instilled a strong sense of discipline, as well as professionalism. Over the years, I've had the great fortune to work under many Master Craftsman, learning and developing my trade through their guidence and knowledge. I spent three years apprenticing for a true Shipwright, learning the art of Fine Woodworking and Joinery, an Art, that has truely become a passion of mine! I also believe, that starting at ground level in a small business, and graduating to one day owner, has played a substantial role in the pride I take in my work. Never having advertised, I allowed my reputation by "word of mouth" speak for itself.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Since I was a young boy, I've always helped my father out doing projects around our home. Since that young age, I developed a great satisfaction working with my hands, and with his guidance, developed a strong pride in my craftsmen. After leaving the Army in 1998, I traveled from my home in New England, to Eastern North Carolina, were I partner with him in a small repair, remodeling company. The business grew, by word of mouth, rapidly, and within a few years we were building houses, and the go to company for remodeling in the community. After his "second" retirement, I maintained the company, and ran it successfully for a few years, until my move to Northern Michigan in 2013, to advance my wife's career. There I worked primarily as a Finish carpenter, cabinet installer, and finish painter. I joined the community of Omaha, just two years ago, following my children. I continue with my career in the Carpentry Trades, and with hard work, and my reputation, hope to gain the same success and satisfaction I have enjoyed thus far.
