Dogs are learning a lot; I'm learning more. It's great to see our terrier pair do well. Thanks, John!

Im very pleased with my decision on choosing American Canine Institute of Idaho. John has been very good in explaining why he is doing a command a certain way. He is patient and will take the time to show you the correct way you need to handle your dog while working with him. I appreciate the way he trains without using the food rewards. Thats important to me. I really feel that myself and my dog have made progress. After 6 wks of training I am starting to have control my puppy cant wait to see what the next few weeks bring.

About this pro

American Canine Institute has been in business for 34 years in California and has recently opened an office in Ontario, Oregon. Our approachs to dog training are balanced and multi-faceted programs that are the most comprehensive dog training and behavior programs in the San Francisco Bay Area and now in Idaho & Oregon. We specialize in real world training and behavior modification, for those who want a well-mannered dog who is calm, respectful and less impulsive. We show you how to create an environment where your dog’s state of mind will be transformed. Your dog will be calmer, more relaxed and balanced. You will learn how to read your dog’s body language and really be able to “listen” to what they are telling you. I use a balanced approach to training: Summed up very simply, a balanced trainer uses all quadrants of learning. We believe that, like humans, dogs thrive in a life where there is a balance of rewards and consequences and clear, consistent communication. All too often dog trainers get stuck in the “one size fits all approach.” Our goal is to motivate you and your dog to learn, perform and to build confidence in both you and your dog by using humane, consistent, safe and interactive training. We believe that if you take an extreme position in one way or the other, you will severely limit your ability to help a dog and your clients. ACI-Idaho offers group and private classes year round. There are never training waiting lists at ACI because all of our classes are continuous entry. This means you and your dog can start training at your convenience. ACI-Idaho takes pride in providing training according to the dog and owners needs NOT, the size of their pocketbook. We guarantee that we will not over sell you. We take our time to allow the dog and handler to learn at their own speed. Our prices are locally industry competitive. I love proving to people that a well trained dog is a well balanced and happier dog. I personally love helping the team to progress in their training and watching the metamorphosis into a well balanced and productive team. I enjoy being able to help dogs become focused and teaching the owner/handler to become a more effective Team Leader. I love it when clients come to class with a genuine look of pride on their face and share with me an experience they had with someone else complimenting them on how well behaved their dog is.
