FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $25 per hour or $15 for a half hour. I can travel to someone's house in the evenings for an extra $10 per session.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For younger students, I usually start with a an assessment test to guage their level of understanding and get an idea of concept gaps. Then, depending on their goals, I make lesson plans for each session to fill in the gaps and build a foundation of solid understanding. We work on organization and habits of success and we work on homework together as needed, with the student showing their work and finding their own answers as I guide them with questions.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I earned a bachelor of science degree from Brigham Young University in Provo. I worked as a private math tutor for a few families during my college studies as well as tutored in an after-school scholarship program for high school students for several years. From there I taught math at Springville junior high school and at Vista Heights Middle School. Now I have a studio in my home and keep a part-time schedule tutoring students of all ages.
