FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
“Good labor isn’t cheap and cheap labor isn’t good.” I try to give the best price possible for labor and do not make any profit on any materials. I get contractor discounts on some items at Lowe’s and will give the customer the price I get it for. Remember: the cheapest quote may end up costing you more in the long run. You may need another professional come out to fix the cheaper estimates’ mistakes and cut corners.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Make contact, introduce myself, find out exactly what the customer is looking to have done, schedule an estimate, explain exactly what will need to be done to complete the project, discuss prices and start date. I like to be 100% transparent with clients and make sure they are aware of everything needed for the project, and make sure they are comfortable with recommended changes.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My father has been teaching me since I was 10 years old. He’s been in the business since the early 1980s, BUT I still learn new things every day to expand my scope of expertise.
