FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I quote mural jobs based on size and image content, and location. Approximately $75 an hour for most jobs. (plus material costs). Private classes run about $150 for two hours, plus traveling fee depending on the distance above 6 miles. 2-3 hours per class time is preferred. Discounts for students coming to me. (2 hours - $135). And for now, group classes of about 5-12 students run about $18 an hour per student, for 2.5 hour classes ($45 a class, paid in a series of 4-5 classes at a time).
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When Painting a Mural, I typically speak to a client in the phone first, as we each gather necessary information so I know whether they want a mural, art lessons, or help designing some obscure item. I need to know the size, desired image and timing. Then a client will send me a collection of photos and or measurements. When interviewing potential Art Students, I find out what they are interested in and want to learn. For private Art Students the class is geared specifically to what each student wants to learn. In group classes, It is also based on shared interests of the group, and demos are according to desired skill building painting or drawing techniques.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Art classes, Bachelor's degree in Fine Art, Plein Air classes, nearly thirty years of experience studying and replicating old master's works in chalk on pavement, or on canvas. Also, all my process art, and internal work that has led me to be a "Recovering Perfectionist" has helped me see that people create easier and better when stress and inhibitions are not in the mix.
