Where do I start? XO is AMAZING!!! Hands down XO is more than 5 stars in all 5 categories - Work Quality, Professionalism, Punctuality, Responsiveness and Value. She responded to my initial Thumbtack request super quickly. When I replied, she was available to talk right then. She asked all the right questions and really wanted to know what type of look I wanted. She has great people skills and we hit it off immediately. We set up the appointment for the bridal consultation. She came to my home which was so great because I had so many wedding things to do that week. I wasn't expecting that, but I appreciated it so much. She was ON TIME. That is so refreshing in Los Angeles because with traffic and parking and road detours, you just never know. The consultation makeup was beautiful and just what I asked for. She matches and blends foundation like the pro that she is. That's a BIG deal. I also had only worn lashes 1 other time in my life, and she was able to put them on me so easily. My eyes didn't even water. The makeup lasted from 10am to 11:30 PM. I actually took photos at 11pm that night and the makeup still looked great. Afterwards, I decided to make a couple of changes to the look and she was excited about it. On the wedding day she sent me a text like an hour or so before just saying "see you soon" which was so comforting for me to know that everything was going smoothly. She was again, ON TIME. That's a big deal to me and being consistent with punctuality in this city means that it is a part of your character. I didn't think the makeup could get more beautiful...but it did! It was even BETTER than the consultation. It was GORGEOUS!!! But I still looked like myself. XO knows how to make those eyes pop!!! The photos were amazing. I don't wear makeup everyday, so she made me look flawless but natural and not washed out for the camera. And she works quickly so you're not in the chair for long, but that's from years of experience. I got sooo many compliments, and I felt SO beautiful and my new husband said I looked SO beautiful too. (He is in film and wants to hire her for future projects as well.) Also, I never had to touch my face all day and night. I just touched up my lips ONCE after 9 hours. Seriously. Amazing! Her rates are very reasonable. For her quality of service and professionalism the value of what you are receiving is incredible, and the peace of mind is priceless. XO and I had a great time together! We talked and laughed and I will definitely be securing her services in the near future. Hiring a makeup artist for my wedding was a very nerve wracking and emotional task for me because I had been stood up by a makeup artist on the day of an important event. For that reason, I only work by referrals, but that didn't work out this time. It was a major leap of faith for me to hire a stranger, but I struck gold! Working with XO was VERY healing for me and why I wanted to be as detailed as possible in my review for people who have had bad experiences in the past. Plus, she deserves a stellar review because she earned it with her excellence. XO is great and you too will be happy you chose her to be your makeup artist! Kimberly

I asked Xochitl to do my makeup and hair for my sister in laws wedding and I am so glad I did! From the get go, she was very responsive and patient. When it came time to do our trial and also the day of, she was on time. She also made sure that everything was perfect and I was happy before she left. It is apparent when someone truly cares about their clients and their work and Xochitl showed that the entire time. I liked her and her work so much, that I asked her to do my hair and make up for my baby shower!

Xochitl was very professional and did an excellent job on myself, my daughters and my mom. She made us all look so great for the celebration. We were able to show her the looks we had in mind before hand and she made us look better than what we anticipated. Can’t wait to have another event. We look forward to having Xóchitl again.

I'm so happy with the quality of work and overall work ethics of Xochitl and Diana. Xochitl took the time to answer all my questions and went above and beyond helping me prep for the big day. She made sure they were early to the event and made time to help with details for others. Xochitl even helped fix a broken button on my wedding dress. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I usually consider travel time and pre-trials in my price however I do keep in mind current pricing and I'm aware that clients have numerous options. I consider my pricing low-medium level.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to approach my client in a way to make her feel comfortable. I also like to ask questions to get to know her better and understand her needs. I like to build relationships so I tend to be very friendly and bubbly but can mold my attitude to mirror that of my clients.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have worked in retail cosmetics my entire working life... about 15 years + I have attended many basic makeup trainings as well as trend setting ones. I have also freelanced several years already doing mostly weddings, photo shoots and videos.
