Introduction: Thank you for choosing Thumbtack Professionals. Actually, Hired four times through Thumbtack. With 4+ decades of personal fitness experience, as well as serving in our military (US Army), my knowledge in health and fitness has enabled me to maintain excellent health and fitness level at 63 years of age. Proper form and careful detailed instruction is my specialty, working carefully through proper warm-up, range of motion, progressing through exercises with or without weight equipment. Safety is priority, preventing injury while providing encouragement and drive to reach desired fitness goals. For heart-healthy cardio, toning and strengthening, equipment is not always necessary. This will depend on personal fitness goals such as competition training for sports. In addition, if you like, we will discuss tailored nutritional guidelines to help you attain fitness goals. When my clients need special care to make sure prior injuries are healing adequately, or have other limitations, I work carefully with them to help build the body to its greatest potential, that is what I do best. Working together we find what techniques you feel comfortable with. The fact that I can make a difference in my clients lifestyle for better health in their day-to day living is my personal goal. Depending on initial fitness level, exercise as well as medical history, we will work together. Increased energy, ease of movement in everyday tasks, and the ability to manage the stresses of daily life make it all worthwhile for those who embrace my fitness techniques. I worked in Medical Records Department as Medical Transcriptionist (17 years), while working part-time in various fitness centers. I am certified through International Sports Science Association (ISSA) in Personal Training and Fitness Nutrition. I learned very valuable knowledge regarding diagnoses and treatment of many illnesses and diseases working in the hospital, knowing very well that many (not all) of these afflictions can be prevented through changes in everyday lifestyle choices. I made the decision to follow the path to the opposite end of the spectrum, sharing my experiences and knowledge with others, the rewarding benefits of a healthy lifestyle. Kathleen is the first personal trainer I have ever had, and I could not be more pleased. She works with my physical limitations and helps me to gradually overcome them and increase strength and improve body composition. She has wisdom for what path to take to reach my goals while allowing previous injuries to heal. She has given me so much knowledge, and is helping me to do what is best for MY body. She has been happy to answer questions between sessions, and has given me so much during her visits. I could not recommend her more highly.

Kathleen is awesome! She's highly knowledgeable when it comes to muscles, their connections and functions, and how to target specific muscle groups and the entire body effectively, which contributes well to her being an excellent trainer and health coach. Plus, she's attentive and genuinely interested in her clients' health and progress toward their goals.

Kathleen is extremely knowledgeable about the body and nutritional wellness. She utilizes her experience and expertise to customize workouts and nutritional plans for her clients. She values the privacy of her clients by not keeping any documentation of her clients health info. During the first week she had me do a 3 day nutrition log for myself, which we discussed together during our next session, and I was able to learn a lot from the advice she gave me. If there is a certain exercise that causes me discomfort, she provides modifications and/or other similar exercises to do instead. She will set up the weight machines customized with the acceptable and safe weight for me. She also brings her own free weights! Safety is a priority and she makes sure to teach correct form so that injuries can be avoided. She has a variety of floor work exercises that she has taught me so that I can do them at home. Also, she will do the floor work with me during our session so that it encourages me to keep going. Overall, wonderful trainer!

Kathleen Estrella has done an excellent job working with my rare physical disability (that makes exercise very difficult) and gently pushes me to my limits while protecting me from hurting myself (very easy to do). It required research on her part and a lot of listening to me. I have had several Physical Therapists and two people helping exercise in the past. Kathleen ‘s fresh take and training was immediately the most useful. She helped me learn to climb to a flight of stairs without pain for the first time in over two decades. It is had to describe my gratitude for that new skill alone!
