I had a unique project. My house was built in the 60's and has older type ductwork that is not standard size and cannot just be purchased at home depot and easily put together. A humidifier must have leaked in the ductwork many years ago as the inside of one section was very dirty/rusty/possibly moldy and could not be cleaned.. needed to be replaced. Problem was urgent as my daughter was hospitalized 3 times over past 3 years and quality of air in the house is believed to be the factor. I put the request in Thumbtack and exactly ONE provider responded. Most companies just do not do this type of custom work. Ben is a young guy with old school skills. He gave me a very fair estimate for replacing the polluted ductwork and also installing a couple of UV lights. It was a very complex project. Ben finished the project on time and even gave a discount back for the unused ductwork. Air quality is showing much better now (as we are able to measure in our house). Ben also does regular duct cleaning as well so I would HIGHLY recommend him for ANYTHING related to your duct system.

I hired Ben from Fresh Air Flow to perform annual maintenance on my furnace. He performed normal furnace cleaning. He found air filter was dirty and humidifier pad needed to be replaced. He gave me air filter measurement of 16x25x1 and a standard humidifier pad as per the previous pad size. I bought those from Home Depot and tried to install myself. I found air filter was too small and humidifier pad was too big as they were the only available sizes. I called Ben again and he did come back in couple days. I guess he didn't measure the air filter size needed for my house which he should have. He told me I needed a special order air filter which will cost 90 dollars for the 1 inch thickness filters. Also he had to cut the humidifier pad to install it but then later found the humidifier pump itself most likely has problem. I think he should have checked the pump before installing the pad. Now I cannot return the filters or the humidifier pad as they are used and not really doing anything for me...I am trying to get quotes on how much it will cost to get the humidifier replaced and if I can get the proper size air filters that are needed. Overall, Ben was nice and courteous. I am giving 4 stars.

Ben was very flexible with work dates and gave me a fair estimate of the work that needed to get done. He i stalled a new Williams brand space heater in the basement and it works great! He is continuing to work with me on making the other parts of the house more efficient. Some other projects we are doing include insulation, vents and air conditioning maintenance. So far so good. Ben is a good listener and is transparent when doing the work. I would recommend his services to anyone who likes simplicity.
