During two months of learning from Alex, I had significant improvement on violin playing after every lesson. Although the extent of improvement also depends on the amount of practice, correcting wrong habits and learning new techniques in the lessons are much more crucial, which greatly facilitated my progress. Alex patiently corrected the wrong stance and posture of my violin playing in every lesson, which I would not have noticed by myself. Playing with correct stance and posture not only produces smoother sound but also takes less effort, which makes practicing enjoyable. When learning new techniques, such as vibrato, double stop, and position shifting, Alex showed me every detail about the technique, which I could not find in any YouTube videos. Moreover, these techniques are intimately built upon correct stance and posture of playing. Although I only took one hour of lesson a week, the amount of knowledge and experience that I learned from Alex in each lesson normally took me one or more weeks of practice to completely assimilate.

Alex was born into a family with musical tradition and as a result, you can see how passionate he is in music. He is really keen on instructing how to play, starting from the most basic points and sharing his experience. He has everything you can expect from a violin teacher. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Teaching: When I meet with a student for the first time, I examine the level of playing and create a program which will work the best. Performing: I usually do all the communication over an email or the phone. If there's a need, I can meet in person, to discuss all the details.
