FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I start with one lesson. I believe in the value of my own teaching, and customers will see the benefits of lessons with me versus a lesson with someone else if they choose to try out different teachers. If/when the customer decides to continue lessons, we pick a weekly time to meet. In some rare cases if the customer has an irregular schedule, I can accommodate doing lessons at different times.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Degrees: BM, William Paterson University, Piano Performance GPD, The Peabody Institute, Saxophone Performance My teachers listed by instrument in chronological order: Piano: Alex Bohrer, Jeff Hellmer, James Weidman, and Harold Mabern. Saxophone: Paul White, Justin Vasquez, Vincent Herring, Mark Shim, and Gary Thomas. Clarinet: Doug Yates and Andy Lamey Flute: Karen Demsey and Janet Axelrod
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I began teaching when I was 19 still in college. I was recommended to teach at a studio based on the merits of my playing.
