Introduction: I am a professional opera singer and music teacher based in the Fairmount/Art museum area of Philadelphia. I am available for hire as a music teacher and as solo vocalist for any of your wedding, funeral or private event needs. I teach voice lessons for all ages, genres and abilities. I also teach piano and music theory lessons for beginners & up to the intermediate proficiency level.
I hold both a Bachelors and a Masters degree in music from the prestigious University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music. I have 10 years of private studio teaching experience. Currently represented as an active performer by L2 Artists in New York City, my performing credits as a soloist include: The Santa Fe Opera, Opera Philadelphia, Austin Lyric Opera, New Orleans Opera, Arizona Opera, Kentucky Opera, Cincinnati Opera, Lyric Opera of Kansas City, Aspen Opera Theatre, Opera Southwest, Opera Theatre of Lucca Italy, Ravinia Festival in Chicago, the Tucson Desert Song Festival in Arizona, Boise Philharmonic, Austin Symphony, Canton Symphony, New York Philharmonic at Lincoln Center and at both Zankel and Weill recital halls at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
My mission as a music teacher and educator is to teach to the individual's needs and impart upon them healthy technique, strong musicality and performance skills...no matter the genre of music. I have a varied and wide range of experience teaching. I have taught beginner to intermediate piano students as well as voice students of all abilities ranging in ages 8-48 in genres including classical, country, pop, jazz and broadway/musical theatre. I offer a productive and positive environment. I truly believe that my strength as an educator is that I teach to the individual's needs.
What I most enjoy about teaching music is when the student has come to a better understanding and therefore a fuller sense of enjoyment for the music that they are studying.
