Introduction: As an Emmy award-winning composer, and currently Composer-in-Residence for the North Valley Chorale in Phoenix, I enjoy fostering a passion in my students for the music literature of the great composers of the past. My teaching concept is to personalize instruction based on the needs, desires and abilities of each of my students, whether they are young beginners or adults. My greatest feeling of accomplishment is to have my students master the various aspects of piano performance.

On several occasions I was able to observe Mr. Frassetti interact with Middle School students teaching both piano and music theory. His instruction was very clear, precise, and patient. He demonstrated outstanding technique and sensitivity to the repertoire, and the students progressed with enthusiasm and passion in a fun and safe environment. Having worked approx. 10 years with Michael in the Music Dept. at the Bellport Middle School on Long Island, NY, I witnessed his amazing abilities on a daily basis. His exemplary musicianship coupled with his teaching and inter-personal skills put Michael in a category all his own. Truly loved by his students and colleagues, he has the ability to communicate with extreme patience and humor. As Principal Timpanist of the Phoenix Symphony, I have found Michael Frassetti to be a brilliant musician, knowledgeable about so many different styles of music, warm and friendly, and a pleasure to be around. I have seen him teach in a musical lecture series at a local senior center and found his ability to connect to people to be of the highest order. Although I have not studied piano with him I have heard so many wonderful comments from his past students who seem to stay in touch with him (always a good sign). Yes. $25 for half hour lessons
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first music lesson is free so that we can both assess if this is a good "fit" in the student-teacher relationship.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BA degree, Summa Cum Laude in Music Education, and a Master of Arts degree in Music Composition both from Long Island University in New York. I performed on piano and additional keyboards in the main lobby of the Hyatt at Gainey Ranch in Scottsdale, AZ for 12 years. I taught music in the public school system in NY for 8 years. I taught piano for 10 years including 2 years at Steinway Hall in Scottsdale from 1999-2001. I was awarded an Emmy in 1995 for local soundtrack work.
