- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Every project is different in terms of the amount of time it takes to feel finished, and that flexibility is an essential part of the creative process. In order to keep the project within your budget and timeline, I always like to offer a free consultation to agree on a production schedule and budget before I jump on the clock. At this consultation I'd ideally like to hear demos of what you're planning to record, or a performance from you of your songs, to give me a sense of where they're at versus where you want them to be. Once we've agreed on a schedule and goals, there's a small nonrefundable deposit to lock in our dates-this deposit counts towards your final tab. There will never be any surprises or hidden fees on your bills, and you will always know what you're agreeing to before any money changes hands.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I've available for a free consult to agree on a production schedule and goals before any money changes hands. This can take the form of a phone call, email, or an in person meeting. If it's easier on your schedule, we can combine the consult and the first recording session into one meeting, or not, up to you! Once we're all on the same page, I take a small deposit to lock down our scheduled sessions. This deposit counts towards your final tab, and is nonrefundable. If scheduling conflicts arise, we can simply reschedule. Then, we can jump right into the music!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?My first early musical passion was in classical music, so I have two degrees in Trumpet Performance, a B.M. from Boston University and a M.M. from the UNC School of the Arts. I also spent a year and a half touring full time with a classical brass quintet, and have been performing, writing, recording and teaching music here in Phoenix for the past seven years. I currently play trumpet in two successful local Phoenix bands: Herbert Walker and The Foster Family Band.
