Introduction: Mike is a passionate Wedding & Headshot photographer with a deep desire to understand how things work, while also helping others. His intense curiosity and childlike imagination are also evident in his thought-provoking, inspiring images. Mike holds a BA in Fine Arts from Montclair State University. Throughout his career, Mike has photographed a variety of subjects across the world; including weddings, portraits, music festivals, political rallies, and professional sporting events.
True fulfillment in Mike’s photography comes from both the emotional impact of visually powerful imagery, and the meaningful connections he makes with his clients. In life, Mike seeks out objects and places that fulfill all of the human senses. The Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) is Mike’s favorite subject to photograph, and he has taught multiple international workshops in Tromso, Norway on how to capture Auroras. The special light of dusk and dawn, with the mixing of ambient city lights and natural glowing blue, is another one of Mike’s favorite visuals. Seeing a person connect the dots in their own photographic journey is just as satisfying to Mike as making his own favorite images. Mike loves hearing people’s stories, as well as what sparked their interest in photography, and how he can help them understand their vision better, either conceptually or technically. He is continually praised for his ability to thoroughly explain things without leaving out steps, and for having the most patient, friendly vibes anyone could hope for from an instructor.
When Mike isn’t photographing or teaching photography classes, he can be found in the kitchen experimenting with new recipes, flavors, and cooking techniques. He is the ultimate people person – someone who can be the life of the party and then turn around and have a deep philosophical discussion or lend a listening ear.
