Introduction: I offer private violin instruction for intermediate and advanced violin students, 10 yrs or older. I played in the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra for 28 years. I help my students prepare for all orchestral and solo auditions. Students play for frequent masterclasses and student recitals. The focus is on technical development and on finding the pathway between technique and musical expression.

I highly recommend Mr. Sonne as a violin teacher. My son has made significant strides under his tutelage. While his mastery of the material and discipline is obvious, it's his sensitivity to individual needs, patience, flexibility in trying different approaches and establishing rapport with his students that truly sets him apart.

Our daughter loved working with Mr. Sonne. Our only downfall is that he's too far away from where we live. Over an hour drive.
Our daughter would love the opportunity to work with him in the future.
He's an excellent coach and teacher. She enjoyed the fact that he made her feel so comfortable and spoke to her on a level that she understood quickly. We would definitely recommend Mr. Sonne .
