Introduction: Counseling is a truly unique experience and should be guided mostly by the client's desire to address troublesome areas in his or her life. A client will typically come to counseling to address emotional and behavioral concerns that have caused stress, frustration, and problems in relationships. Goal setting and checking in on progress of those goals is common. Every person is different and reaches their goals and satisfaction point at different times. Some people come to counseling for short term problem solving skills and others for longer term deep rooted issues. Therapy is a process, not a product. It is a satisfying experience to work with individuals and see them find out just how capable they are of overcoming the challenges they face; Empowering people to do what they were created to do is a joy of mine.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I do work with various insurance companies: Blue Cross, Blue Shield, Cigna, and Aetna. I also will bill for out of network services for UPMC Health Plan, if your plan has out of network benefits. For those who do not have these plans, I do have out of pocket rates listed on my website. At this time, I do not offer a sliding scale rate.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Clients request to make an appointment for counseling. I discuss with them their goals/reasons for counseling to ensure that I am a good fit for their specific needs. If this is the case, we proceed with paperwork and setting up a first appointment. If it is not, I have several therapists that I refer to frequently.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology Licensed with the state of Pennsylvania as a Professional Counselor Continuing Education Credits (33 required every 2 years) Various trainings in Family Systems, Trauma Informed Care, Disordered Eating, Integrative Psychotherapy (Christianity), Suicide Prevention, Gambling Addiction
