FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Basic standard pricing for quilt tops that are needing longarm service performed starts at $.02 per square inch for an all over, edge to edge design. If custom work is required, a price will be quoted after inspecting the top and its needs. Custom monogramming or embroidery starts at $10 and works it way up as the job increases with its technical needs. Embroidered quilt labels start at $15 and works it way up as the difficulty increases as well.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to meet and discuss the parameters of the quilt they are needing. For custom quilts like tshirt or memory quilts, one meeting and receiving tshirts or photos is enough. Favorite colors and styles will be discussed. Once a price is determined, a small deposit may be required unless other arrangements are made. For embroidery work, I only do custom monogramming. Gift ideas like bath towels, robes and tote bags are the most popular. If you want a logo embroidered, you must provide the digitized file in a .dst format and I will embroider it just as it comes from you.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over 12 years of computer digitizing for machine embroidery. I used to own 2 full service embroidery brick and mortar stores and have trained numerous designers to create fabulous embroidery designs. I also am a previous owner of a quilt shop. I taught quilting, embroidery and longarm quilting.
