Great photos and fun to work with! Thanks Maury!Apr 9, 2018Maury N.'s reply
Thanks Judy. I'm glad the headshots we did worked out for you!
I was his first Nude Male Model and he did exceptionally well. I've been modeling for over 11 yrs and this photo shoot was new to him; but, he made quick adjustments to my needs. I'm used to 400 to 700 photo's taken in a 2 hour range. He was quick to respond to that type of format and was great. I plan further shoots with Him in the future.Apr 4, 2018Maury N.'s reply
Thanks Kevin. It was fun to work with you and your idea of showing the "raw" studio in the background worked out well for this series. Hope to work with you again sometime.

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I believe my pricing to be fair and competitive. My logo is "M A Newlin Photography. For the Masses." When I say "For the Masses" I'm referring to the countless hard working folks in this area who know the value of having life's milestone moments captured and displayed in their home or workplace, and don't have a lot of disposable income to finance such luxuries. Yes, having a professional do a portrait of themselves or their family, is very much a luxury for many. I try to keep my pricing structure at a level that will appeal to people because of it's affordability. One of my goals for this studio is to get folks in front of my camera who have never had a professional portrait or head shot done. And a personal goal is to have everyone who comes to me for their portrait or other photography needs, leave the session feeling good about themselves and when they see their Final Picks, they are pleased and satisfied with their purchase.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Pretty easy, no-hassle process. Once a client contacts me about work and we agree to work together, I will send a confirmation email to that person stating the date, time and location of the shoot. Additionally, the email will have the agreed upon price for the project and any other information pertinent to the project that the photographer would like the client to confirm in writing; or that the client wants in writing for the photographer to confirm. Once all the details for the project have been covered in email and confirmed by the other party in a return email, that's it; we are ready to shoot the project. Of course, it would be ideal to sit down with the client and do this face-to-face, but those opportunities are the exception, not the rule these days.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have a Bachelor's Degree from Brooks Institute of Photography, Santa Barbara, CA. After school, I returned home and spent 26 years in Chicago working in a custom commercial lab, a studio specializing in shooting huge room scenes for multiple furniture and appliance clients. My last 6 years in Chicago, my role in Chicago (and in Troy, MI) was that of a studio manager for a large and extreemly very busy studio. We did the Sears weekly flyer photography which was used for national publication, as well as the same for K Mart. Those two clients alone, kept that studio crazy busy, plus we had many other clients such as Pfaelzer Bros., Ulta, Godiva Chocolates, The Boise Cascade Office Supply annual catalog, and the Grainger big book each year, to name a few.
