FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing and rates are flexible depending on a number of factors, including client need, type of shoot and resources needed, distance traveled--I'll go anywhere for a good shoot--and if the end result provides an interesting challenge or not. Though I've been know to barter for a good peach cobbler, my rates are usually more in the form of a friendly monetary amount. I do have a more standard pricing set for the more standard shoots such as in-studio portraits, product photography, and private lessons in photography, lighting, and software.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I prefer to sit with a new client and get to know them a bit so I can better understand what it is they hope to project to their customers via professional imagery. We may look at a variety of examples and always discuss options. It is usually an exciting process, to help a client better shape and form their image and brand.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a self-taught photographer, starting with Polaroid Land Cameras and Brownies as a child in the mid-60's, though have attended numerous workshops on photography, off-camera lighting, and marketing, etc. as an adult. I'm now known for my workshops and private lessons in photography, off-camera lighting, and photo-editing software.
