Nutri-Viva/Holistic Nutritionist

Introduction: As a first graduate from the newly developed masters of nutrition program degree at the National College of Natural Medicine, I present my unique set of skills and experience as a holistic nutritionist. As a Holistic Nutritionist, I will work with every client individually, providing specialized care involving dietary and lifestyle modifications that will lead to a more balanced life between oneself and nature. My educational and cultural experience includes a 6-week stay in Nicaragua for completion of internship requirements in my degree. One of my primary roles as an intern in Nicaragua was to serve as a translator and liaison for doctors, medical students, peers and local people of the community. I also worked on translating various documents and handouts to Spanish, so that they are applicable and ready for use in their community clinic, located on the island of Ometepe. This internship was able to reinforce my confidence in myself and my abilities to be able to work in an unpredictable, unfamiliar environment with daily challenges and successes. Not only was I able to provide nutritional education to many well-deserving individuals. I also worked as a research student from which we obtained scientific acceptance and will be presenting our research findings from the Island of Ometepe and NDI to the upcoming Spring 2016, Unite for Sight Conference at Yale University.
