Confident Voice Studio
2018 Top Pro
About this pro
I have more than 20 years experience teaching piano, voice and ukulele and performance techniques for all ages. I help musicians and speakers to give their best performance ever. I bring more to the table than just your average "music teacher." As a entrepreneur, I help you overcome the struggles of marketing yourself to directors, casting agents, and how to make the best impression. As a voice teacher, I help you learn exercises and strategies to get your voice the most functional, the most versatile, and the most healthy. As a director and casting agent, I help your to audition successfully and prepare for roles efficiently and effectively. As a working performing artist, I know the challenges of singing 8 shows a week. I help you interpret your material like an actor does to give the most authentic performances. As a coach, I help you set goals, build plans, overcome obstacles and create habits to help you reach your goals faster and easier. As a recording artist, I help you prepare for the demands of being in the studio and working with amplification. As a geek, I help you find the tools, software, and systems (many you already have) to help you be more successful in their exercises, practice, auditions and performances. I love teaching my students and seeing them take a new concept or idea and implement it. I love seeing them improve their skills beyond what they thought was possible.
Customers rated this pro highly for punctuality, responsiveness, and value.

- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?First we chat in a complimentary telephone consultation. We’ll work together to… => Create a crystal clear vision for ‘ultimate success’ so you know exactly what you want, where you’re headed, and what you need to do to make it happen. => Uncover hidden challenges that may be sabotaging your ability to make changes that last or that are slowing down your progress => And learn how Confident Voice Studio can help you achieve your goals faster and easier than if you go it alone. Then if we think it makes sense, we'll meet for an Initial Fit Session at the studio. We will: >PLAY - You experience how I teach; I experience how you learn! We'll go over where you are musically, your current skills. >DREAM - An overview of how I see this studio will fit into your training goals.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Collectively we have 50+ years of teaching experience to support your learning and development as a musician. Traditional college, continuing professional development with the leaders in music education and our instruments and let's not forget the best teacher, the school of hard knocks. Life and working experience in the real world is the best teacher. Deanna, our founder has been performing for over 40 years (yep she started when she was 2 years old) She's written, produced and directed over 100 productions as a band leader and the founder of Portland Musical Theater Company.
