Introduction: What I lack in age, I make up for in talent. I've been DJing professionally for 10 years. In that time span, I've become successful in 3 major markets: Reno, Nevada, Cincinnati, Ohio, and Portland, Oregon. I've opened for nationally recognized recording artists. Reno Tahoe Magazine said it best, "In a scene full of testosterone, Jess the Ripper brings a fresh and unique approach to the art.” After winning Reno’s Biggest Little City DJ Battle at age 20, hosted by EDGE Nightspot, I landed residencies all over the city. I also got to open with a set for celebrity DJ Spryte, one of my favorite DJs! I was voted Reno’s #1 DJ in 2011, just one year into my career. Next I took my talents east, to Cincinnati Ohio. I became the resident DJ at Jack Casino after less than a year living in the area. I was named The #2 DJ in the city in 2015 and 2016 during my three year residency. Now, I've raised the bar on a new challenge in the Pacific Northwest, to Portland Oregon. I'm currently focusing my talents on corporate events and weddings in the Pacific Northwest region. I've played for the Human Rights Campaign’s Gala, various RedBull corporate events, including the Kentucky Derby, and was featured on a float in the Cincinnati Reds Opening Day parade and PRIDE parades nationwide. I've had the honor of opened for celebrity artists such as British multi-platinum recording artist Ellie Goulding, Karmin, three time Grammy winning group, The Temptations, and God-Des and She, to name a few. I've been incredibly lucky in my successes in the nightclub industry, and am bringing that fresh energy to the wedding industry. I am a very well know Zumba® Instructor in the Reno/Sparks Nevada area. I have done many types of events from Breast Cancer, Reno Tahoe Odyssey Run, Shape up Reno, just to name a few besides my weekeky large classes at several gyms. Jessica has made all my warmup and cool-down mixes for all my classes! Her amazing mixes have given my classes an excellent start and finish to their workout! Her talent shows she puts pride into her work as a DJ... I've also attended several events Jessica DJ'd and she definitely knows how to get people modivated on the dance floor! She is by far the best DJ I've ever listened to. I was also able to attend her event when she won #1 DJ of Reno, what an amazing night with her superior performance!! In a word: amazing. Jess was the best DJ we could have hoped for and probably more. On the music side, Jess was soooo good. Awesome remixes, great selection, catered to everyone. Jess can really read the mood and room. With a smaller wedding (50 people) we were a little nervous that people wouldn't dance - well, cross that worry off the list if you hire Jess. We needed to have 'clean' songs and that was no problem at all. On the business side: prompt responses, really organized, friendly to work with. Jess arrived on time, ready to go for our wedding. Things were set up and we had nothing to worry about. Finally, Jess is also a very warm, welcoming person. It felt like having a really cool, old friend at our wedding. Thank you Jess!!

Rates are determined on the equipment needed to provide services, number of hours, and type of venue / event.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First we set up a phone consult to go over their specific needs, hours, equipment needed, music style, etc. Making sure that my clients expectations are met is incredibly important to me. After that we sign a contractual agreement, have a venue consultation if necessary. Whatever the client needs to feel 100% happy I'm willing to do.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I DJ'd a charity event at a local night club while I was in college at UNR in Reno Nevada. A bartender slipped me her card, and hooked me up with my first paid event! I started to gig on Thursday nights, then Friday nights, and soon Saturdays too. I was entered into a DJ battle at EDGE Nightspot in Reno, NV at age 20 and won! I was escorted out after the win because I was too young to hang out and party with the 21+ crowd. From there, Jessica the Ripper Inc. was established and the rest is history!
