- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically we will have a free 20 min phone consultation to begin determining if we will be a good fit. This gives you an opportunity to tell me a little bit about what brings you to counseling at this time in your life and offers you the chance to ask me any questions you might have before we officially get started. Counseling is not a quick fix. It takes time to assess issues and work together for change.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I completed my Masters (M.S.) degree with honors in Marriage, Couples and Family Counseling Psychology from Portland State University, a graduate program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Counseling and Related Education Programs (CACREP). I completed my Bachelor of Arts degree summa cum laude in Psychology at Portland State University, Oregon in 2008 and am a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) through the National Board of Certified Counselors. I also have extensive experience working with individuals and couples as a certified life coach, childbirth educator and birth doula for many years prior.
