- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Tutoring jobs take into account time spent with the client as well as basic preparation, though in some cases additional preparation may be needed, in which case this would be discussed in advance of billing. Editing jobs are usually billed on a "per hour" basis. In general, on-going or particularly lengthy jobs may eligible for discounts, depending on the circumstances.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I offer a free half hour phone consultation, after which, if the client determines that we are a good fit, I write a proposal detailing my recommendations. Then we get started, and monitor and adjust as needed. There is no “one size fits all,” so communication is key, always:-)
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a B.A. in English and a Master’s in Education.
