- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The typical design cost can vary depending on your specific goals. Consider the level of interior detailing, exterior image and so on. My typical price starts at $0.90 per SF of living space.plus a $250 one Time setup fee. I I visit you for an initial site meeting and to complete my Design Guide Workbook. This Design Guide is a booklet that reviews important aspects of your design and building goals, exterior and interior finishes, room by room details, your preference on structural materials and so on. I also encourage you to collect pictures that you might fine and even sketch your own floor plans. Should you also have a basement WITH living space, their could be an additional fee. CONSIDER YOUR ENERGY DOLLARS - It's easy for me to design a home with energy bills at 75% or lower than today's conventional building processes. I have completed several complete NET ZERO designs where the utility bills are actually ZRRO per month. If you're building a new home, please do what you can to help our planet. Consider that living in a Super Energy Efficient home with energy costs of 50% to 75% lower than the average home will help you in 2 ways: 1) Lower month by month out of pocket costs, 2) The comfort you will find within, & 3) A far greater result value when you are ready to move on.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I enjoy design. Their is much to discuss during a first meeting. I want to meet at your home or the building side. I have a a info guide prepared that covers questions such as the design process, energy consumption and more.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Beyond my 4 years of college I have been involved in the construction trades for over 30 years. This started as a carpenter then migrated through various trades such as finish carpenter. I then gained experience with HVAC ,plumbing, electric and cabinetry design. Homers were in the range of 300,000 and up to $40 million dollars. residence. Additionally I've worked on many high profile commercial structures - The Cincinnati Zoo, Portsmouth Public Library, Arch's Yogurt, The Wedding Barn and many more.
