- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Most project estimating requires me to visit the work site to see, measure, and discuss the scope of work before I can give a quote. For some services I do have fixed base prices such as pressure washing, gutter cleaning, and more. Large projects require a 50% deposit, with balance due upon completion. Most smaller projects and services completed same day can be paid in full after completion. Estimates are free!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typical process with all my customers: 1: Visit project location to see, measure, share material samples, and discuss the scope of work. 2: Then I'll email my estimate within 24 hours. 3: Upon approval, signed work order / contract, and deposit a start date will be agreed upon and scheduled. 4: Work will be completed in a professional and timely manner. 5: Then we email the invoice for the balance due.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I come from a large family of different tradesmen so I was introduced to this type of work when I was young. My home improvements adventure started about 18 years ago. Spent the first nine years with my mentor doing complete renovations and repairs in homes and apartments for property management, realtors, landlords, and home owners. I did everything from roofing, flooring, drywall, painting, carpentry, decks, fencing, complete remodeling and much more. We literally did it all!, Followed by a couple years of landscaping and fence construction. I then joined the roofing & waterproofing apprenticeship with the roofers & waterproofers union for 4 years honing my roofing skills in both residential and commercial roofing and repairs. Then in 2015 with the help of my family I left the union and created Toutant Home Improvements, LLC and its been a great success!
