- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Every legal case is different and pricing can be very difficult without a lot of details. Nonetheless, I know that everyone's situation is different and I try to make sure I can offer multiple representations options to every potential client. Sometimes this includes hourly billing, flat fees, and contingent representation (or some combination of the above).
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Generally, I want to get as much information as possible when first speaking with a potential client. This allows me to provide the best advice and representation suggestions from the beginning.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?There are many talented lawyers but you should look for a lawyer that you can trust and - just as importantly - a lawyer that you can enjoy working with. Use a consultation as an opportunity to get the best advice you can and to make sure you are getting a lawyer that is a fit for your case. Too often, customers will use the consultation to convince a lawyer to take their case and that should not be the goal!
