Introduction: I have a very complete formal classical music education background. I have been learning piano when I was 5, and I have been learning flute when I was 9. I was educated in music school during middle school, high school, undergraduate, and graduate school (New York University). I also took many classes, which are related to woodwind teaching in college. I've started my teaching career since 2011, I am good at providing different teaching methods for different students. It would be really fun to work with me, you will definitely like playing flute and piano.
I worked in an orphanage when I was a sophomore. I worked as a general music tutor, some of them were kids who needed special cares, and I did a successful work there. I taught them how to play with music.
And I have organized four solo flute concerts and other different kinds of chamber and orchestra concerts. You will definitely learn more than you thought form me!!
Performing and teaching is my biggest favorite part of life. I love to teach all I learn to my students. I always feel satisfied when my students show how much they learn from me.

Julie is the perfect piano teacher I've been looking for.
She is experienced in that she knows how to design the learning curve for me to achieve my goal, so I am having fun and making progress at the same time when practicing. I'm a 24 years old student who learned piano for 3 years when I was younger, and now my goal is playing the classical piano and writing songs. I believe I can achieve that with Julie's help.
She is professional in that she has a broad knowledge of music history, music styles, and pianists, and she knows what playing techniques I need. So I really enjoy my class with her.

Julie is very patient and encouraging. She challenges me to play beautiful pieces, and shows how even "simple" pieces can be made gorgeous by paying attention to dynamics. If there are areas I struggle with, she often has tricks I would never have thought of that allow me to overcome obstacles. And she is always warm and welcoming.
