- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?We can usually schedule a service call for you as quickly as same-day or next-day, depending on when you call and technician availability. All first-time customers get a $25 discount off of the labor charge of their first Tech Wizards on-site service call (see our website for terms and conditions). All senior citizens aged 65 or older qualify for a $10 discount off of every on-site service call. Our residential and small business labor charge is $33 per quarter-hour with a one-hour on-site minimum charge ($132). Most of our service calls are about 1 hour to 1.5 hours, although some repairs may require more time. We do not charge for technician travel time to customer locations in the greater Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area, nor do we charge a "trip charge". Payment is due upon completion of service and we accept cash, checks, credit cards, and debit cards.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?During every Tech Wizards service call a polite, professional, and friendly technician will first summarize the nature of the call, ask any needed questions and explain in general terms what he will be doing. He will also invite you watch every step of the process and ask any questions you might have, and he will talk in plain English, not in "geek-speak". Or, if you prefer, he will begin the job and let you know when the work is finished, allowing you to tend to other matters while he services your computer. Either way, before leaving he will explain (in layman's terms) exactly what he did and he will answer any questions you might have about the work performed. We also offer remote desktop support and pickup/delivery (at a small additional charge) for those customers who would prefer that their service not be performed at their home or business.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?All Tech Wizards technicians are career IT professionals with extensive training and experience, and every one of our technicians has been employed by Tech Wizards a minimum of 10 years.
