FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The more customizing and creating of squares the price will go up. Generally the price is $15 per shirt plus $25 for some backings and possible shipping. That’s the best ways to estimate an overall price.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I start with a conversation to learn about who the quilt is for and more about their story so that I can personalise the project. The customer is then asked to put together their clothing they want incorporated. After I receive it I take time to go through it and play with ideas before I even cut the shirts. Once I find my inspiration and layout I then begin the project. I typically work with the customer a few times throughout the project to have them select backings and trims. I offer suggestions but it is truly up to the customer to decide on the colors and fabrics.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I took 4 years of sewing in HS to learn the techniques but beyond that it’s just experience. I do take quilting classes as local shops to continue to grow and learn in the industry.
