Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: While I can and do work with all age groups, the main focus of my practice is the over 50 age group. Being 62 myself, I feel that most trainers don't understand our wants, needs and the physiological differences we have from the 20 something client. I take pride in being able to construct an exercise program that is not a "cookie cutter" program, but is based on each persons abilities and goals. I can help you achieve your goals at home, outdoors, or at my private training facility. If you are in need of nutritional advice we can also help you via our resident PHD in nutrition. What I most enjoy about my work is the intrinsic value I receive from impacting someones life in a positive manner.

Joe is an excellent trainer: patient, informed and good natured. Working with a trainer helps keep me motivated and on my plan but working with someone like Joe who meets me where I'm at is particularly encouraging. I don't feel any intimidation or that I'm being set up for unrealistic goals and that really helps keep things on track.

After decades o f attempting to achieve core fitness training on my own, and at other gyms, Joe's in-depth training experience and one on one customization of workout routines has been nothing short of a miracle for a 71 year old lazy man. I think my year plus with him motivated him to focus on the needs of the 60+ community because we have individual needs and ailments that are just not addressed by mass-production trainers and gyms.

FAQs

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I initially send all new clients a health questionnaire which they can fill out and bring with them to our first meeting (which is free). We then sit down and discuss this, what they wish to accomplish, time constraints and budget. Given those variables, I create a custom workout plan to help them achieve their goals.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have been an AFAA certified instructor since 1991. I am certified as a group fitness instructor, personal trainer and weight training specialist. Over the years I have taught many different types of classes as well as dealt with all types of clients. Certified trainers must also attend continuing education classes to maintain their certifications. The fitness industry has gone through many changes over the years so I am always learning to stay on top of the latest research and new techniques.

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

The three most important questions a client needs to ask any trainer are: Is the trainer certified? Being a certified trainer shows that the trainer has been educated in accordance to industry standards. How long has the trainer been in business? Quite simply time equals experience and experience equals knowledge. Is the trainer insured? Like any business professional, insurance is a must.
