Yamas Yoga-Wellness

Introduction: Yamas yoga-wellness is an outreach-based yoga initiative designed to create awareness and stimulate interest in yoga and wellness through creative innovation and mindfulness-based intervention. The outreach-based yoga initiative targets healing, wellness, empowerment, and emotional emancipation, including stress management, emotional regulation, self-appreciation and confidence, and strong community relationships. Yamas yoga-wellness offers community and studio classes, group sessions and private sessions, by appointment only. Because Yamas yoga-wellness is a donation based organization, our purpose is to bring locative and financial accessibility to total physical, emotional, mental and spiritual wellness. Our donation level classes and services offer our clients something in exchange for each donation. Donations help with, starting non-profit, getting more training/continuous education, getting materials, marketing tools and outreach work in the community. Yoga is a beautiful and transformative practice. What we enjoy most about the work that we do at Yamas yoga-wellness are the connections that are made in the community. The spaces where we offer yoga are helping to create community level interventions and innovative approaches that help influence optimal well-being and self-efficacy across the African diaspora. Because yoga is a holistic system of mind-body practices for mental, physical, and emotional health, it is an ideal method to teach people of color life skills for stress reduction and regulating emotions in optimal ways. Ultimately the MISSION of YAMAS YOGA-WELLNESS, is to help elevate the collective consciousness of the African/Indigenous family by bringing total holistic wellness and awareness to our communities worldwide through Yoga, Aromatherapy, Massage,and Social Justice initiatives.
