I like to work out with Anders. I think it is absolutely essential for my overall health and fitnessJan 4, 2018
I have worked with Anders for a number of years and When he moved to Ironside I followed himJan 4, 2018
Anders is the best! I began training with him almost 4 years ago. I have worked with other trainers, and although they were good, Anders experience and obvious passion for his field just set him above the rest. Anders asks me how I feel before every session...and he listenes, often adjusting his plan without missing a beat. He always pushes me to do my best, but never past my limit. I put my complete trust in his knowledge by returning to him after a recent knee replacement. He makes each workout interesting by constantly changing up the exercises. I always look forward to working out with Anders....and I don’t even like to exercise (but know I should)!Dec 23, 2017
Anders is an excellent trainer! He is well prepared for every session with a well thought out program that is tailored to my individual goals and needs. I wish I had started with him many years ago!Dec 22, 2017

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? Our pricing is based on market demand, education, certifications, experience and professionalism. We have promotional specials for new clients that can be found on our website ironsidefitnesstraining.com and Instagram @ironsidefitnesstraining. For our current clients we have a referral specials throughout the year.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? We at Ironside understand that each person is unique and requires an individualized, scientific approach to training to become the best you can be. What does an individualized approach mean? Since each person comes to us with a different training experience, knowledge base, fitness and sports background, medical history, nutritional habits, goals, and reasons for those goals, we begin with a questionnaire to gain a background and then proceed to fun and easy assessments. The assessments will identify any imbalances in posture, movement, and joint range of motion to correct overactive and under-active muscle groups. We will also do a strength and overall fitness assessment to better understand where you are today and where we will begin together. The results are important in building the program that is correct for you so we can progress to maximizing your full potential. Based on the results the National Academy of Sports Medicine's OPT Model will be applied. This model consists of three stages: stabilization, strength and power. Within these three stages, there are six phases of training including stabilization, muscular endurance, hypertrophy, maximum strength, power and maximum power. We will use various types of training within each phase including balance, agility, quickness, linear speed, strength and power that are appropriate for each individual. Lastly, we will emphasize various forms of flexibility and cardiorespiratory training that align with your goals and provide you with nutritional guidelines and recommendations that are appropriate based on various training and medical factors.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?In high school, I played football, basketball and lacrosse, and consistently trained in the weight room to become stronger, bigger, quicker and faster. I continued to play football at the University of Delaware, where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science. Since then I have acquired several certifications: American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) - Certified Exercise Physiologist (EP-C) National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) - Certified Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES) National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) - Certified Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES) National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) - Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) -Certified Golf Fitness Specialist (GFS) EXOS - Certified Performance Specialist American Council on Exercise (ACE) - Certified Group Exercise Instructor (IM=X) - Certified Pilates Reformer and Floor After more than twenty years of experience training clients with a variety of concerns such as overweight and obesity issues, post rehabilitation injuries, the senior population, and young and adult athletes in various sports and positions, I have noticed several aspects of training that are lacking: 1. Specialized, individual instruction 2. Consistent assessments and data collection 3. A systematic, scientific approach to training These three reasons and my passion for training others is why I created Ironside Fitness & Sports Training.
