I have been experiencing back pain on and off for about three months. I was referred to John Smelts by a client of his and decided to give him a try. John has been working out of his home since 1984. It was a pleasant surprise and reminded me of the good-ole-days when businesses were family run or home-based and you received exceptional customer service. It turned out that my first impressions were accurate.
John had me fill out a medical history form and he then asked a lot of questions about my back pain issues. I was impressed by how patient and concerned he was regarding my chronic pain. He described how he incorporates energy healing into his massages and suggested several changes to my diet which I am going to try. John also offered insights into how I may be creating my own back pain because of my habits and lifestyle. He demonstrated a specific yoga exercise which has helped greatly in better managing the pain and stress in my back.
I requested a full body massage for one hour. John’s massage really worked out the kinks in my body because I have been under a lot of stress and holding onto a lot of pain in my muscles. He used many different techniques including a percussion vibrator. I liked all the different types of acupressure work he did which I feel covered all of the major muscles in my body very effectively. Afterwards, I was completely pain free and felt more relaxed than I have in years. It has been two months since my massage treatment and I no longer have back pain. I can see myself becoming a regular client.

When arriving for your massage appointment John gives you some time to relax before beginning your massage. He is very skilled in all sorts of massage techniques. When John gives a massage he wants to be sure your muscles are relaxed. He takes great pride in his work. I couldn't believe how much my vision improved after the first massage John gave me. I've seen John for massage for many years and it's still pretty awesome that he can relieve so much tension and pain as well as improve my sleep and vision simply by giving a really great massage.
I make sure not to plan anything after a massage with John except to go straight home and enjoy that relaxed feeling.

I have used John's services for 25 years. He returned my calls promptly and was always flexible in working with my schedule. I found John to be extremely meticulous and thorough in his work. It amazes me how many different techniques he used throughout the years. John is a good listener and when I had a particular issue he was well informed to offer exercises and stretches that I could do outside of my visit. I highly recommend John, P will exceed your expectations and time and effort he gives.
