Introduction: Alan Tilley has been teaching violin for ten years. He holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree in violin performance from the University of Michigan and Indiana University.
While at Indiana, he worked privately with Prof. Mimi Zweig in the famed IU String Academy, teaching students as young as three years old. His teaching is influenced by the Suzuki tradition, in addition to the pedagogy of many of the other great 20th-century teachers, such as Gingold, Galamian, and Dounis.
Alan co-founded the Anchorage Chamber Music Festival in 2013. Over the past few summers he has given hundreds of lessons, chamber music coachings, master classes, and performances at this venue in Alaska.
"My area of expertise is giving students a strong, reliable foundation in technique that ensures a lifetime of joyful, tension-free music-making and allows students to reach their full potential. Message me anytime if you're interested!"
