Introduction: I keep the PLAY in playing music. We all learn most easily when the pressure is off and the laughter is on.
I offer 7 years of experience as a private music teacher in the greater DMV area and have taught over 350 students the skills to make music. I specialize in my ability to successfully match and tailor lessons for children, teens, and adults. I believe I possess a gift for making the objective of learning music easy, interesting, and FUN!
I teach: Drum Set, Classical Percussion (Symphonic & Marching Band), Piano, Guitar, and Ukulele.
Music is my life. Years ago I discovered how much joy music can bring, how STRONGLY music improves the quality of our lives.
I am a Private Music Teacher based out of Rockville, MD. I travel through Potomac & Rockville, MD and and into McLean, VA weekly. I teach students of all ages and levels of music talent or experience, who seek a talented teacher who is warm, engaging, fun- yet highly effective. I offer in studio lessons in my beautiful practice space OR I can travel to your home.

Mr. Alan is a fantastic teacher. He listens. He motivates. He inspires. Not only does he teach my daughter drums, he has also taught all my daughters how to play together and work together as a band. Often bringing in his own equipment and always bringing enthusiasm and fun, they thoroughly enjoy every minute with him. His love of music is contagious.

Our family has taken music lessons with Alan on and off for a number of years - drums, piano, guitar, and even ukulele. My kids love Alan and they steadily improved with weekly lessons. Alan is extremely warm, patient, and encouraging. He is also great at working around jam-packed schedules. I highly recommend him.
