I've been providing client-focused services for tax return preparation and tax problem solving for over 13 years. I recently acquired a tax services firm and left the company where I had worked since 2003. We are a small, independent tax firm with an Enrolled Agent, an experienced and highly trained tax preparer and support staff. We love taxes, we love helping people solve thorny tax problems, and we love numbers. Best of all we work very hard and smart for our clients. After all we work for them, not the IRS or state tax department. Helping people. The mental challenge to think through different tax situations and arrive at solutions. The thanks I get from clients, not necessarily verbally, but through their show of trust when they send their friends, family members and co-workers to me for help.

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?It is difficult to price tax services because there are so many different elements to a tax return or to helping someone resolve a tax problem. What works best for me is for the client and I to agree on my assignment, agree on the cost for me to perform the work, and have it in writing. If the assignment changes due to circumstances unknown to me and/or to the client, the cost can change, but only to an agreed upon price. I work to be fair in what I charge...I'm not the least expensive and I'm not the most expensive.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I like to have a conversation about the new client's needs and expectations so that I can best help the person with their income tax returns or problems. New clients are welcome to ask questions. My promise to all clients is that I will be patient, answer questions honestly and not use legal jargon. I have a physical office in the heart of Rogers, Arkansas where I meet clients by appointment. I have evening and weekend appointments available, as well as during the weekdays. I also have a virtual office and work with clients from all over the world. Clients send me documents using my secure client portal. We communicate by email, telephone or video-conference. Each client has a secure folder in the portal where I upload the completed tax return and other documents for the client to review and sign.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I've been taking tax courses, basic and advanced, since 2002. The total number of professional education hours easily exceeds 1,000 over the past 13 years. I am required to take a minimum number of continuing professional education hours each year to maintain my EA license and to maintain my membership in the National Association of Enrolled Agents. I have also taught basic and advanced tax education courses with a large tax preparation company and have been awarded the status of Master Tax Instructor with that organization.
