FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For weddings, I typically charge based on whether I am playing for just ceremony, or if the client is having me play for cocktail hour or dinner. For other corporate or private events, I charge on an hourly basis. Also, pricing varies on whether the client is hiring me as a solo player, or if we are including an additional instrument, like flute or violin.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Quite a bit of my initial discussion with clients is either via email, or the Thumbtack portal. This is a quick and easy way to find out specific details - type of event, date, time, location. Usually with wedding clients, we have at least one either phone, FaceTime,or Skype conversation. These video options give us the ability to get to know one another a bit better.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied classical guitar at University of Illinois. In addition to working on my playing, I received excellent training in music theory and history. That was a long time ago. Since graduating, I have continued to study music arranging and composition independently, and have also studied the technology that goes into creating music. The experience of having played hundreds of performances has truly helped me to fine tune my craft.
