Ryan came out to play music at our Grand Opening Party. He sounded amazing and everyone commented on how much they loved the music. He was on time, professional and friendly. I would/will definitely hiring him again.Jun 16, 2016Verified
I cannot recommend Ryan Hernandez enough. I had never heard him before and hired him on short notice for our buffet style wedding reception at La Venadita in February 2018. We are so lucky to have found him and that he was available. This is hard to write because I almost have no words to describe how special and perfect everything was. The soundtrack Ryan provided really made the night. We provided him a few favorite songs and artists to play live (including our first song "Perfect" by Ed Sheeran) and he took it from there. He and Kaz played beautiful acoustics while people started to arrive and then they began the live vocals. They were absolutely incredible, every guest came up to ask where I found them and comment on how phenomenal they were. Their music elevated the ambiance of the event to such an unexpectedly magical and romantic level, we were blown away. He did his versions of many of our favorite songs live and they were all incredible. After a few hours he transitioned into a DJ set for dancing (after everyone had a couple margaritas) no one really wanted them to stop playing live but then he started playing hit after hit and had created the perfect dance playlist. We had ages 3 to 90 dancing and singing for hours. Ryan, thank you, you created the perfect soundtrack to our evening and we will be forever grateful for the memories you helped create. Originally I contacted Ryan for live music only and figured we would do that for a couple hours and then plug in a playlist. Then I read another review that said he DID IT ALL, live, MC, and DJ and I figured I'd spring for the whole package, I am so glad that I did. Ryan is incredibly personable and professional. He made announcements throughout the night, introduced us as a couple, announced the first dance, and passed a mic around for toasts. We had a casual taco reception and he provided the exact amount of structure that the event needed. Hire him. We are currently working on figuring out what we can hire him for next....Mar 3, 2018Verified
Hired him for an small anniversary event. Ryan showed up promptly and with everthing needed to preform. He was very professional and carismatic while entertaining our intimate crowd. I was incredibly impressed with his songbook and abilty to take requests. Ryan takes great pride in all the equipment he uses and it's grossly apparent when you sit back to enjoy the show. Watching Ryan play and sing, his greatest passion - Never a disappointment, always an experience. I have become a big fan and would and will hire Ryan and band to perfom at a future event.Feb 8, 2016
Ryan helped us celebrate my wife's 40th birthday. His song list is extensive and covers the last 50 years of music. We had seen him perform in town and have always been impressed. My wife is certain he would win American Idol or the Voice. He really nails every song. Very professional with top of the line equipment that truly makes a difference. He was not familiar with one of my wife's favorite artists I mentioned while booking, but took the time to nail the song as if it were his own. What really stood out was the range of music he covers. From hits to amazing Spanish guitar instrumentals that he and his guitar player Kaz absolutely nail. Thanks for making our event perfect Ryan. Highly recommend Ryan for anyone looking for live music.Feb 8, 2016
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? The pricing system varies from event to event. It mainly has to do with duration, location, and special requests meaning if a client wants a solo or duo guitar with a full sound system opposed to maybe adding in two locations...for example a ceremony and reception required two sounds systems or maybe they want violin and cello in one location and guitars in another. Typically more gear and more musicians will require a higher paid event.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?First thing is finding exactly what a client is looking for. I'll be the first to admit that not every job is necessarily the right one for you. The last thing I would want to do is sell myself knowing that there is a more qualified person for a particular event, however if I meet the requirements of what someone needs then the process is very easy and smooth.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I attended a performing arts academy in my high school days and from there, went on to pursue a career in music and performance. In 2008, I won an award from Sacramento Magazine as the next best thing in the music and arts category. I am self taught musician of 15 years and have been teaching guitar, piano, and drum lessons for a number of years. I've been playing music as profession for 8 years now.
